Fall 2025 Safety Grade is a national recognition for commitment to patient safety
Paradise Valley Hospital has earned its 11th consecutive “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit watchdog focused on patient safety. The hospital has been receiving consecutive “A” grades since the Fall of 2020. Leapfrog assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country using evidence-based measures of patient safety focused exclusively on errors, accidents, injuries and infections.
“Earning an ‘A’ Grade means Paradise Valley Hospital made a true commitment to put patient safety first,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “We congratulate the leadership, Board, clinicians, staff and volunteers that all had a role to play in this achievement.”
“At this point I’m most impressed by the consistency,” says Neerav Jadeja, CEO of Paradise Valley Hospital. “The physicians, nurses, and staff of this hospital have been performing at such a high level, for so long, it’s really awe-inspiring.” Jadeja continues, “Achieving an ‘A’ is already a difficult task to accomplish. Doing it for 11 seasons in a row is amazing. I am so proud of everyone here.”
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade stands as the only hospital ratings program focused solely on preventable medical errors, infections and injuries that kill more than 500 patients a day in the United States. This program is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
“These awards validate what I believe,” says Gemma Rama-Banaag, PVH CNO, “that we have the right people at Paradise Valley Hospital who understand that they are working for more than just personal accolades, that they are here in service to a higher mission, to care for our community.” Rama-Banaag explains that the healthcare profession is different from most other professions, “because our job is to care for the families and loved ones of those we serve. It’s our responsibility and privilege to earn that trust that they place in us. It gives me great comfort that we have the people here at Paradise Valley Hospital who understand and embrace this.”
